Three Sisters’ Garden

Seed preservation & living with creation

As part of our creation care initiative, we host annual workshops offering tutorials on planting and growing a three-sisters’ garden. Corn, beans and squash are three varieties that have long been grown together by indigenous people throughout both North and South America. We provide participants with heirloom seeds that are responsibly sourced from the Eloheh Indigenous Center for Earth Justice located in Yamhill, Oregon. Ministry participants are then given support throughout the growing season, and a harvest meal is enjoyed by all in early autumn.

Plans are currently underway for the creation of a terraced, community garden on the property located at 9967 Lovell Rd. This will allow us to expand the propagation and preservation of heirloom seeds while offering the local community access to a sustainable food source.

We believe followers of Jesus should be the loudest advocates for environmental preservation. One small step we can take is to learn to live with the land and not just on it!
