Our Vision …

Woodlands Gathering exists to glorify God and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all people. We hope to see our community renewed and empowered through the redemptive work of Christ. We are a community of believers that endeavors to follow Christ in all that we do. We strive to be a safe place for Native Americans and all people to encounter the good news of God!

Our Core Values …

1) The authority of the Word of God. We make scripture the ultimate authority rather than church tradition or subjective experience. However, we do not attempt to understand the teachings of scripture in a vacuum, but pray for clarity as we allow the teachings of the historic church to inform our understanding.

2) The Reformed faith. We accept the work of the Spirit through the Protestant Reformation as the historical purification of the church and believe that the teachings and documents inherited from this work of God to be an accurate, albeit not conclusive, portrayal of Christian faith and practice.

3) The leadership of the Holy Spirit. We emphasize the on-going work of the Holy Spirit in the members of Christ’s church and prioritize the role of the Spirit in Christian growth and worship. (Rom. 8:11) “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” (Galatians 5:16) “But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”
